installing realtek hd audio driver on windows xp, we received error message “realtek hd audio install failed”. This is normally happened if we’re using windows xp default sound driver instead of realtek.
Reinstalling windows might help but there’s a quick solution for this where u might firstly need to disable and uninstall microsoft uaa bus driver for hd audio on system device – device manager then reboot. Afterwards, found new hardware pop up message will appear, u need to browse to realtek driver then installation begin. After reboot, the sound will work fine.

this solution might work or not depend on the PC spec and system. i suggest you’re re-install windows but choose recover instead of new installation.
